Today we are just getting in the groove of things. We started our morning with some fresh black coffee. No dairy 😦 lol. It’s going to be a little adjustment for me due to I like a little cream in my coffee. Cheyenne loves his black and as strong as possible!! So off to work I go! I only work a few short hours a day at the post office as a mail carrier. This leaves us quit a bit of time in our day to focus on our fitness plan. So I pretty much sip my coffee while out and about. I’ve never really been a breakfast person but I do know that this will have to change. We need to fuel our body for the day.
While I’m out Cheyenne is doing some simple yard work around the house and hanging with our kids. Once I arrived home today we decided to do a green juice. I will give you the recipe down below it’s a tasty one. These next few days we are going to do a little detoxing with our juices and of course eat lighter. We are not counting calories due to we think that’s ridiculous and could set you up for failure. The key is to eat properly and you won’t need to worry about calories! We are still mapping out our exercise plan in these next few days. But every little day that you change something is one more day towards success. So today we focused on our juices and food.
Today we ate eggs!!! Fresh from our backyard. We raise our own chickens for eggs. There is nothing like a home-grown egg let me tell you!! We really didn’t want to consume too much solids today due to the juice detoxing. We also each had 2oz of aloe vera juice and each a tablespoon of probiotics. This of course is a little challenging because you are definitely hungry, and will crave everything bad for you. This is totally normal but you’ve got to have the mental mindset to tackle this. I think where a lot of failure comes from is not mentally being prepared for the mental challenge part of all this. Food is truly an addiction and most of us don’t even realize that we are under its spell lol.
So here are two juice recipes that we used for today:
Green Juice: Makes roughly 24oz each of us will have 12oz
2 cups of kale
3 ribs of celery
1 large lemon
1 inch of fresh ginger root (peeled)
1 medium cucumber
1 large apple
Wash all ingredients and run through the juicer. Stir and serve up!
The second juice we did today is as follows:
Apple Carrot Juice: Makes 2 servings
4 Carrots (I will do a few extra if you are working with small carrots)
1 inch fresh ginger root (peeled)
Wash and add all ingredients to juicer. Stir and serve up!
I will do another post here shortly with the ingredient breakdown on how they benefit your body.
